Scrunch AI review: pricing, user ratings & alternatives

The short answer: Scrunch AI tracks how ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot portray your brand, audits your website for AI readiness and, on the Enterprise plan, serves its own AI-optimized page versions straight to AI crawlers. By its own account, Scrunch doesn’t write full articles. The entry plan costs $250 a month, and since June 2026 Scrunch has been part of Sitecore. On G2 it’s rated 4.6 out of 5 from 73 reviews.

Features

What Scrunch AI does.

Scrunch asks AI search engines your questions and shows presence, position, sentiment and citations per prompt, persona and platform, also against competitors. On top, Scrunch audits your website: site audits, a page-by-page action plan and suggestions for restructuring or enriching existing pages. Content Gaps show questions you have no content for and generate a content brief.

Scrunch now calls itself an “AI Customer Experience Platform”: on Enterprise, its Agent Experience Platform (AXP) detects visits from AI agents and serves them optimized page versions while people see the normal website. Since June 2026, Scrunch has been part of Sitecore; the contracting party is Sitecore USA, Inc. in Salt Lake City. By its own account, more than 500 brands and agencies use Scrunch.

By its own account, Scrunch doesn’t write full articles: “Scrunch doesn’t currently offer general purpose AI-generated content capabilities”, which Scrunch says is on its 2026 roadmap. “Content Generation” on the pricing page means content briefs and rewriting existing pages. Publishing to a CMS works only in SitecoreAI since October 1, 2026, with every change approved; Scrunch lists other CMSs as “coming soon”.

Reviews

What users say. Ratings from four platforms.

The review base is thin: 73 reviews on G2, which we couldn’t read individually because G2 blocks retrieval, one detailed review on OMR Reviews, a German software review platform, and one on Trustpilot. Strengths and weaknesses are based on the G2 summary in Google Search and that one OMR review; all quotes below come from this single review.

What users like

  • Ease of use and a clear dashboard (G2 summary in Google Search, not verified word for word).
  • Personas instead of keywords: you can set up audiences and follow how they see your brand (OMR).
  • You see how an AI moves from the first impulse to conversion (OMR).

What users criticize

  • Getting started: more than 100 recommendations, priorities and scores can be overwhelming at first (OMR).
  • Less precise or delayed tracking for newer and niche AI engines (OMR).
  • Price: $250 a month is the smallest plan; more AI engines only on Enterprise (pricing page).

In their words

“Scrunch thinks in personas, not keywords. We can set up target groups as personas, and Scrunch shows us how these personas experience our brand through AI.”

OMR Reviews
“At the beginning we were a bit overwhelmed. 100+ recommendations, priorities, scores. It takes a while to know what really matters, but you learn quickly.”
Team lead online marketing, wine retail, 4 stars, Jun 27, 2025, translated from German
OMR Reviews
“Scrunch is really strong on GPT systems and Perplexity. But with newer AI search engines or small niche bots, you notice that crawling or monitoring is often less precise.”

Who it’s for

Who Scrunch AI is a good fit for. And who it isn’t.

A good fit for

  • Large companies and their agencies that want to track AI visibility and rework their own website specifically for AI.
  • Sitecore customers: since October 2026, suggestions can be applied directly in the CMS, with approval.
  • Teams that work with personas and customer journeys rather than single keywords.

Less of a fit for

  • Small budgets: the entry plan costs $250 a month, with nothing smaller.
  • Anyone who needs new articles: by its own account, Scrunch doesn’t write full articles, it delivers briefs and rewrites existing pages.
  • Teams that want to track Gemini, Claude or Google AI Mode without an Enterprise contract.
And Claire?

Claire is your AI colleague for visibility in ChatGPT and Google: she finds where you’re missing, closes the gaps with new articles that she publishes after your approval to WordPress, Webflow, Shopify or Shopware, and shows you the results; full tracking starts at €299 a month. Scrunch tracks more AI engines and goes further in optimizing existing pages.

Questions

Good to know.

What is Scrunch AI?

An AI visibility platform: it tracks how AI search engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity portray a brand, audits the website for AI readiness and, on Enterprise, serves optimized page versions to AI agents. Scrunch calls itself an “AI Customer Experience Platform”.

How much does Scrunch AI cost?

According to the pricing page (as of October 8, 2026), Core costs $250 a month for 125 prompts in four AI engines, 5 users and one brand. For agencies there’s Agency Core at $500 a month, and Enterprise on request. An annual discount is only offered on Enterprise.

Is there a free trial of Scrunch AI?

Yes, seven days on the Core plan. It requires a credit card, and the trial turns into a paid subscription unless you cancel. Without a credit card, there’s a free AI audit on the website.

Does Scrunch AI write content?

Not full articles, by its own account. Scrunch creates content briefs for missing topics and suggestions for restructuring or enriching existing pages. The briefs can be handed to ChatGPT or Claude, which then do the writing.

Who is the CEO of Scrunch AI?

Scrunch was founded by Chris Andrew (CEO) and Robert MacCloy (CTO), started in 2023 and launched in November 2024. Since June 2026 it has been part of Sitecore and, by its own account, keeps operating as a standalone platform.

What are the best Scrunch AI alternatives?

Peec AI and Otterly.AI with public prices from $95 and $29 a month, and Profound and AirOps as enterprise platforms that also write content. Claire, our own product, is an AI colleague for visibility in ChatGPT and Google: she finds where you’re missing and closes the gaps with new articles.

How we compared

Method and sources, as of Oct 8, 2026

  • Researched on October 8, 2026 by Claire (wordsmattr GmbH, Vienna); the values for Peec AI, Otterly.AI and Profound in the tables are from October 5, 2026. We offer an AI visibility tool ourselves, so we’re not neutral. That’s why every number comes with a source and date, and we also say where other tools fit better.
  • Ratings: G2, OMR Reviews (a German software review platform), Capterra and Trustpilot. G2 doesn’t allow automated retrieval. Averages and counts there come from the Google search result for the G2 page, for Profound from G2’s own partner page. We haven’t read individual G2 reviews; strengths and weaknesses rely mainly on the texts on OMR Reviews.
  • Reviews that clearly describe a different product weren’t counted for strengths and weaknesses. OMR Reviews labels reviews written after an invitation with a voucher or donation. That says nothing about individual texts, but it can raise the average.
  • Reddit: direct retrieval is blocked. We only show the snippets Google Search displays and label them as snippets.
  • Prices and features: the vendors’ pricing and product pages, retrieved from Europe on the same day. Whether a tool writes content and publishes it to a CMS, we also checked on product, integration and help pages. Some vendors show euros or dollars depending on your location. Prices change; the vendor’s own page is binding.
  • Quotes: verbatim and shortened, with role, rating and date, without names. Quotes from German-language reviews are our translation and marked as such.
  • Not done: our own hands-on test with a trial account. Claire itself doesn’t have a profile with reviews on these four platforms yet. We update this comparison quarterly.
